Puja Marma

ritual work with the body

What is Puja Marma ?

Puja Marma therapy is a bodywork method aimed at supporting the natural self-healing process in a person's body and mind.

PMT is a ritualistic form of bodywork developed by Andrea Fuego. It honors traditional approaches such as Ayurvedic massage, work with marma points according to the Indian school of Aithein Healing, purification, and energy work based on indigenous American tribes. It also draws upon modern approaches like Chakra Yoga®, Aithein healing massage (work with emotions trapped in soft tissues), and somatic psychotherapy.

Our Principles

Guru širša param pará

As Puja Marma therapists, we recognize the responsibility that comes from receiving teachings from the guru shirsha parampara lineage, which is an Indian oral tradition passed down from teacher to student. We honor the knowledge we have received and, within our competencies, apply it with the utmost awareness and conscience when working with clients to facilitate the process of restoring the self-healing potential of their body, mind, and emotions.

Šauča

In Sanskrit, shaucha means purity and is one of the principles we cultivate as Puja Marma . This means that through our personal practice, we regularly maintain the purity of our mind, body, and emotional field so that we can effectively facilitate the client’s process. Shaucha also includes maintaining the cleanliness of the space in which we work and performing a final purification ritual for the client after the treatment.

Satya

Satya is the principle of honesty, truthfulness, and self-reflection, and it involves a willingness to recognize the projective tendencies of one’s own mind. As practitioners of the PMT method, we continuously educate ourselves and honestly reflect on our knowledge and ignorance. We learn to be truthful to ourselves and others, yet with kindness and humility. In our work, we practice the role of the sacred witness—one who attentively observes the client and gives them space without judging what they see and hear.

Current Training

The 2nd year of PMT training is currently underway. We will likely open the next year in 2028/29. If you are interested in applying for the training, you can fill out the application form here now.
